Nice to meet you.

I am inspired by the textures, phrases, and small details that surround us every day. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I made my way to BC after studying fine art at the University of Saskatchewan, followed by earning a Visual Communications and Design certificate at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. Having been a successful graphic designer in Vancouver for the past 20 years, I enjoy integrating imagery and text in my mixed-media artwork. My use of words and poetry in my work encourages a visual dialogue with the viewer and allows a more personal connection with my art.

My work

Textural imagery, including landscapes, birds, fabrics, and architectural details, are imposed atop one another and combined with poignant lines of song or poetry. Printed images are then hand-painted onto panels and further reworked with paint, pastel, grease pencil, and ink to give each piece a textured and dream-like quality. My first series is titled “Lyrical,” and features lyrics from modern musical artists. My next series is titled “Poetic,” and features lines from classic poets such as William Butler Yeats and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, as well as a few of my own inspirational thoughts.
